YASBLOG (Yet Another SEM Blog)?

I recently had a bet with my father on the origins of the name “Yahoo.” My contention was that it was a reference to the idiots in Gulliver’s Travels called the Yahoos. My father claimed it was an acronym. As far as I can tell, we were both right. According to Wikipedia, depending on who you ask, Yahoo was either a reference to someone “rude, unsophisticated, uncouth” or was an acronym for “Yet Another Hierarchical Officious Oracle.” (Source: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo.)
